Indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the United States have begun in Geneva, with the hope of reducing tensions between the two countries regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
Iran’s foreign minister has held talks with officials of the International Atomic Energy Agency before the start of the negotiations, which are mainly focused on nuclear monitoring and compliance.
The negotiations are based on Iran being restricted in its nuclear activities in return for potential sanctions relief, although both countries have agreed that there are still large differences to be resolved.
The negotiations are being facilitated by Oman, and they are taking place at a time when the whole world is concerned about the potential failure of the negotiations, which could lead to further instability in the Middle East.
